North Wales Circuit

 

The North Wales Circuit covered the three counties of Anglesey, Caernarfon and Merioneth.
The Great Sessions, as they were called rather than Assizes in
Wales, were held twice a year at Beaumaris
(for
Anglesey), Caernarfon or Conway for Caernarfon and at Dolgelly or Bala for Merioneth. 
Death sentences and executions were rare events in these counties, a total of 14 confirmed executions
and 2 possible ones, having been recorded.

 

Anglesey.

There were 5 confimed and 1 possible execution on the Island of Anglesey

 

Caernarvon.

Caernarvon had 9 confirmed executions.

 

Merioneth.

Only 1 possible execution has been traced here.
